I was brought up on firearms and hunting. I learned how to shoot at a young age and have always been fascinated with gun of all types. Throughout my twenty years in the US Navy, I had the opportunity to further my enjoyment of firearms from standard issue small arms like the 1911, M4, M9, M11, M14, MP5 and M60. Crew served weapons and ship mounted weapons like the M2, RAM, and eventually made it up to the 5”/54. I was qualified as a small arms line coach and expert on all of the small arms. I served as a military police office and sworn Federally in Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC. I have always had an obsession with firearms which extends to this day.
Upon retirement, I had no idea what I was going to do. I came back to my childhood town and got a job at a local plant as a shift worker. I joined the local shooting club and received my NRA Pistol Instructor Qualification. The job at the plant was fine but it was not for me. I knew that I needed to find something else and that is when it was asked of me, what do you like to do? I liked shooting guns and playing golf. I knew my golf game was not where it needed to be to go on tour, so I started researching Gunsmithing Schools.
I decided to put my Post 9/11 Bill to use and signed up for Gunsmithing School at Montgomery Community College in North Carolina. I was on the waiting list for two years and started in August 2014 and finished in August 2016 with a A.A.S. in Gunsmithing. I was able to take several specialized training programs and was afforded the opportunity to be qualified on specific manufacturers. I have applied my previous knowledge with what I learned in school and have an extensive background to solve most any firearm task. From fixing old firearms to refinishing, there isn’t much I won’t tackle. I have a broad range that I can work on, I wanted to be able to do it all. I have the skills and professional training to do just that. Just Ask!
